Well it is now a fact we can drive across the boarder into Latvia the land of awesome cake, without even having to stop, let alone show our passports. It used to be quite annoying, because they used to freak a little when we presented the boarder guards with our mishmash of documents.
This is the Latvian boarder, looks horrible doesn’t it?
And this is a cafe in Nica, they could not make a cappuccino, but man oh man can they ever get chocolate cake right. They even gave me a side salad of dried aniseed pods. I had never seen them before, but gosh they were delicious to eat.
The sad bit Latvia is frightfully expensive when it comes to buying coffee and cake. The prices compare quite nicely to the UK. But what a tempting treat and just a ninety minute of less drive away.
