Lost Wanderers

a bundle of joy
a piece of creation
sprouting toward me

my workmanship
my hero
searching for me

children, my children
adopted and loved
journeying towards their Father

humans, souls
flesh, spirits
needing the anchor of their faith

sufferers, lost
sojourners, wanderers
needing a home to return to

innocents, beauty
grace and love
longing to mirror their maker

Brothers in Arms

Anonymously, nothing, not wanted, nobodies,
I cry when I see your photo.
Melancholic miniature men,
I hurt when I see your lives.

What was your past?
What was your crime?
What was your love?
What was your family?

Melancholic miniature men,
Please stick together.
Remember you have each other,
In a life that offers you nothing.

Mustard Seed

Lord we have the faith of a mustard seed.
Not a lot more but we have it.

So why can’t we…
Why can’t we pray our parents back?
Why can’t you raise them from the dead?
Why can’t they come back,
And buy a flat and get jobs,
Cook for us and look after us?
Why can’t they come back and do our hair?

Instead we pray.
We pray for help, we pry for protection.
We pray for love and we pray for family.

Lord you say you answer prayer.
Why can’t we have our parents back?
