Kiwi Iceburgs

Hey

We were just emailed these photos. I have no idea who took them. But they are of icebergs floating just off the south eastern coast of New Zealand. For those of you who don’t know this is the region that we call home. Most people seem to think that we are from some kind of tropical paradise, little do they know that supposedly our lowest recorded temperature is -28 degrees Celsius. That temperature was recorded in our province of Otago. Apparently those people photographed on the iceberg paid $500 each for the experience. (that is NZ$).

Don’t be too deceived this is not that common and I expect that they broke away from the ice shelf in Antarctica. Our winter temperatures are usually around five to negative five. And at the moment in NZ it is spring and the temperature is probably around +15.
